This product is a holder for COB LED modules from Bender + Wirth, providing precise mechanical positioning and a solderless electrical connection.

A COB holder does three jobs simultaneously. It centres the COB on the heat sink so that the optic sees the emitting surface exactly where it expects it. It applies an even, defined pressure across the thermal interface, which is what actually determines the thermal resistance between the COB and the heat sink. And it makes the electrical connection with spring contacts, so the COB can be fitted and replaced without any soldering.

For a manufacturer this means faster and, more importantly, repeatable assembly. For a maintenance technician it means a COB can be exchanged in the field with nothing more than a screwdriver.
