This product holds the matching LED optic securely in position over the LED and gives the assembly a clean, finished front face.
The alignment between an LED and its secondary optic is what determines the beam. A displacement of a few tenths of a millimetre visibly distorts the light distribution, and an optic that shifts under vibration or thermal cycling will do exactly that. A purpose-made holder fixes the geometry once and keeps it for the life of the luminaire.
