This product is a precision LED lens from LEDiL. It is designed to hold and position the matching optic or LED precisely.

A secondary optic is what turns the wide, roughly Lambertian emission of a bare LED into a usable beam. LEDiL designs each lens for a specific LED footprint and publishes measured photometric data for it, so the beam angle, the efficiency and the intensity distribution in the datasheet are what you will actually measure in the finished luminaire.

This optic is rated for ultraviolet use. Standard PMMA optics absorb UV-B and UV-C radiation and yellow rapidly under it, losing transmission within hours of operation. A UV-rated optic is made from a material that stays transparent at these wavelengths and does not degrade, which is a hard requirement rather than an upgrade for any UV irradiation system.
