The ConextMatrix Edge Module is part of ConextMatrix, the 24 V LED surface system with the patented Conext puzzle connection. The 40 x 40 mm module has one straight edge and closes the side of a shape. It carries four warm white Nichia 757 series LEDs with a color rendering index above 90 and 3-step MacAdam binning, delivering 118 lm at 0.89 W, an efficacy of about 133 lm/W. Plugged together without tools, solder or cables, up to 625 modules form light surfaces of up to 73,750 lm per square meter in any outline.

Applications of the ConextMatrix Edge Module
With the Conext system, the ConextMatrix Edge Module is used for the following main applications:
- Signage and illuminated shapes: Letters, logos, symbols and pictograms can be built directly from ConextMatrix modules, without a separate PCB layout, and placed behind a diffuser or in an illuminated sign. More about LED modules for signage backlighting.
- Light surfaces and designer luminaires: Panels, ceiling and wall luminaires of any outline, from rectangles to circles and free-form shapes, built from 40 x 40 mm modules with high color rendering.
- Showcases and shop fittings: Uniform, high-CRI backlighting of shelves, display cases and furniture elements, which brings out the true colors of the products.

The Conext Connection System: LED Modules That Connect Like Puzzle Pieces
With the patented Conext connection system, LED modules are plugged together like pieces of a puzzle and are electrically connected at the same time: electrical contacts on the noses and in the matching indentations conduct the current reliably from module to module. No soldering, no cables and no plugs are needed, and the modules lie flat without any additional connectors, so they fit into very slim designs. Anyone who has ever done a puzzle can assemble a Conext light shape, without tools or technical knowledge.
ConextMatrix modules run on 24 V constant voltage. Five 40 x 40 mm forms let you build surfaces and shapes of any outline:
- Corner Module: forms a two-sided end of a shape and is equipped with connection terminals.
- Edge Module: has one straight edge and closes the side of a shape.
- Linear Module: has two straight edges and two connection options opposite each other, for straight lines of light.
- Centre Module: can be connected on all four sides and also from below, for the inner area of larger surfaces.
- Power Supply Module: has three straight edges and two connection terminals and feeds the 24 V supply into the connected modules.
One power supply module carries up to 10 A, which corresponds to about 270 modules.
Modules connect within their own series: ConextPlay runs on 5 V, while ConextMatrix and ConextBar run on 24 V.

Installation and Operation
- Assembly: plug the modules together on a flat surface until the noses sit fully in the indentations; only completely engaged contacts conduct the current reliably.
- Mounting: fix the assembled shape on a flat, non-conductive surface and make sure that no metal parts bridge the contacts.
- Power supply: connect the terminals of the power supply module to a stabilized 24 V DC constant voltage LED driver, sized for the total load plus a safety margin (0.89 W per module). Do not exceed 10 A, or about 270 modules, per supply module; for larger surfaces, use several supply modules. Dimming is done with a dimmable 24 V driver or controller.
- Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, and use the modules only indoors in dry environments.
Why the ConextMatrix Edge Module Outperforms Low-Cost LED Modules
Compared with low-cost LED modules, the ConextMatrix Edge Module differs in two areas that decide how long a lighting installation performs well:
- LED quality: we use only brand-name LEDs from Nichia, the Japanese LED market leader whose researchers invented the blue and white LED technology, with full manufacturer datasheets and performance tested in the lab and in real applications.
