The ConextPlay Male Circuit Board is the bare ConextPlay circuit board, without an LED, with the patented Conext puzzle contacts. It has two "noses" and two indentations, so it connects to female modules on four sides, and is intended for makers, schools and product developers who want to populate their own ConextPlay modules or extend a ConextPlay shape with their own components at 5 V.

Applications of the ConextPlay Male Circuit Board
With the Conext system, the ConextPlay Male Circuit Board is used for the following main applications:
- Signage and illuminated shapes: Letters, logos, symbols and pictograms can be built directly from ConextPlay modules, without a separate PCB layout, and placed behind a diffuser or in an illuminated sign. More about LED modules for signage backlighting.
- Creative play and education: ConextPlay turns light into a construction kit: children, students and makers build glowing shapes, name tags and night lights, and learn how electric circuits work in a playful way, safely at 5 V.
- Decoration and accent lighting: Small light objects, decorative wall shapes, shelf and showcase accents and gifts powered from a USB power supply.
The Conext Connection System: LED Modules That Connect Like Puzzle Pieces
With the patented Conext connection system, LED modules are plugged together like pieces of a puzzle and are electrically connected at the same time: electrical contacts on the noses and in the matching indentations conduct the current reliably from module to module. No soldering, no cables and no plugs are needed, and the modules lie flat without any additional connectors, so they fit into very slim designs. Anyone who has ever done a puzzle can assemble a Conext light shape, without tools or technical knowledge.
ConextPlay modules run on 5 V from USB. Three forms work together: male modules with two noses and two indentations, female modules with four indentations, and the power supply module with USB-C socket and push button, which feeds up to 150 modules. Each module measures 2.5 x 2.5 cm, so up to 1,600 modules fit on one square meter.
Modules connect within their own series: ConextPlay runs on 5 V, while ConextMatrix and ConextBar run on 24 V.

Installation and Operation
- Assembly: plug the modules together on a flat surface until the noses sit fully in the indentations; only completely engaged contacts conduct the current reliably.
- Mounting: fix the assembled shape on a flat, non-conductive surface and make sure that no metal parts bridge the contacts.
- Power supply: connect the ConextPlay power supply module to a 5 V USB power supply rated for the total load: each module draws about 0.1 W, so 150 modules need about 15 W (3 A at 5 V). Computer USB ports supply only a limited current and are suitable for small shapes only.
- Control: use the push button on the power supply module to switch the light on and off, dim it or select the fade mode.
- Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, and use the modules only indoors in dry environments.
