The PowerBar V3 Horticulture Hyper Red and Deep Blue is a high-power linear LED module with twelve ams OSRAM Oslon SSL 150 LEDs on a 286 mm aluminum circuit board, delivering a horticulture spectrum from 9 hyper red (660 nm) and 3 deep blue (451 nm) LEDs at 700 mA. It is designed for professional grow lights in greenhouses, vertical farms and research. Together with the matching heat sink, optics, cover and Mean Well drivers, it becomes a complete high-power luminaire.

As a compact, high-power light source, the PowerBar V3 Horticulture Hyper Red and Deep Blue is designed for the following main applications:

• Horticulture: supplemental daylight: The 3:1 combination of 660 nm hyper red and 451 nm deep blue LEDs targets the red and blue absorption peaks of chlorophyll, so the radiation is used efficiently for photosynthesis. Rows of modules supplement daylight in greenhouses for fruiting crops such as strawberries and tomatoes, or serve as the main light source in vertical farms and growth chambers. • Linear lighting: Mounted end to end in a linear luminaire body or on the PowerBar V3 heat sink, PowerBar V3 Horticulture Hyper Red and Deep Blue modules create powerful lines of red and blue grow light for grow light bars, inter-lighting between crop rows and research growth chambers. Build a Complete Luminaire with the PowerBar V3 System

The PowerBar V3 is more than an LED module: together with its matching heat sink, optics, cover and drivers, it becomes a complete high-power luminaire that you can assemble to your requirements:

• Heat sink: the black aluminum PowerBar V3 heat sink (SKU 31631, 290 x 57.2 x 40 mm) is made to fit the module and dissipates its heat. The module is fixed with the optional mounting clips (SKU 32381) and a heat-conductive adhesive pad. See the PowerBar V3 heat sink with mounting clips and adhesive pad.
• Optics: LEDiL FLORENTINA rod lenses cover all 12 LEDs with a single part and are available with beam angles from 10° to 45°, completed by the FLORENTINA-SHD glare shield (SKU 30141) and the insert for the heat sink (SKU 32615). Alternatively, individual lenses such as LEDiL TINA3, HEIDI and STRADA or Carclo optics can be fitted using the mounting holes on the board. See our optics for white and color LEDs.

Installation and Operation

• Cooling: always operate the module on a heat sink, such as the PowerBar V3 heat sink, with a heat-conductive pad between board and heat sink, and make sure that the Tc point stays within the specified limits in the finished luminaire, especially at high drive currents. An NTC resistor on the board allows temperature monitoring via an external control unit.
• Connection: terminals on the first and last segment allow connection without soldering.
• Dividing: the module consists of 12 segments of 28.5 x 23.85 mm; if needed, it can be divided with a saw, and each segment can also be used individually.
• LED driver: operate the module with a constant current LED driver set to 700 mA; never connect it directly to a constant voltage supply. Several modules can be connected in series: the current stays the same and the voltages add up (33 V per module), so the output voltage range of the driver at the selected current must cover the sum.
• Eye safety: high-power LEDs are very bright; do not look directly into the operating module.
• Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, and keep the module away from aggressive chemicals. The module is not waterproof; for humid or outdoor environments, install it in a closed, suitable luminaire housing.
• Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
