The SmartArray Q4 Tunable White brings adjustable color temperature to the smallest luminaires. Four Nichia E17A LEDs on a 13.5 x 13 mm board cover an exceptionally wide range from candle-like 2000K to daylight 6500K, with a color rendering index above 80. Independent V+ and V- pads for each color allow smooth tuning with a 2-channel constant current controller: 170 lm at 2000K and 270 lm at 6500K, at 350 mA and 2 W per channel. Ideal for tunable white spotlights, downlights and pendant lights in offices, hospitals, schools and homes.

Installation and Operation

• Cooling: mount the module on a heat sink or the metal body of the luminaire, with thermal interface material or the adhesive pad where provided, and make sure the Tc point stays within the specified limits in the finished luminaire.
• Connection: connect each color with its own V+ and V- pads to one channel of a 2-channel constant current controller.
• LED driver: operate the module with a constant current LED driver with short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection; never connect it directly to a constant voltage supply. Several modules can be connected in series: the current stays the same and the voltages add up, so the driver output voltage must cover the sum.
• Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, keep the module away from aggressive chemicals, and store and operate it at 10% to 60% relative humidity.
• Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
