The SmartArray 3+1 Dim-to-Warm behaves like an incandescent lamp: at full power it shines in warm white 2700K, and when dimmed down, an intelligent circuit on the module shifts the color temperature continuously towards a cozy, candle-like 2000K. No additional control unit is needed: the color temperature follows the current of a standard 350 mA constant current driver. With 4 Nichia LEDs on a 13.5 x 13 mm board, it delivers 305 lm at about 3 W, with a color rendering index above 80, ideal for restaurants, hotels, bars, living spaces and decorative LED lamps.

Installation and Operation
- Cooling: mount the module on a heat sink or the metal body of the luminaire, with thermal interface material or the adhesive pad where provided, and make sure the Tc point stays within the specified limits in the finished luminaire.
- Dimming: use a dimmable 350 mA constant current driver; the color temperature becomes warmer as the current is reduced.
- LED driver: operate the module with a constant current LED driver with short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection; never connect it directly to a constant voltage supply. Several modules can be connected in series: the current stays the same and the voltages add up, so the driver output voltage must cover the sum.
- Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, keep the module away from aggressive chemicals, and store and operate it at 10% to 60% relative humidity.
- Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
