The Multibar1090 is a rigid 50 cm LED bar for professional and residential lighting that is installed like a construction kit: thanks to the Multibar plug & play system, bars are joined into long, continuous lines of light without soldering. Its 24 Nichia 757 series mid-power LEDs (48 per meter) deliver 350 lm per bar, 700 lm per meter, at only 2.6 W, an efficacy of 135 lm/W, with a color rendering index above 90: a moderate output for accent, cove and furniture lighting.

The flat 10 mm wide bar operates at 24 V constant voltage and needs no additional cooling. It can be cut every 83.33 mm, and the connectors still fit the cut pieces, so lines can be adapted exactly to cabinets, shelves, coves and luminaires. Nichia binning to a 3-step MacAdam ellipse guarantees uniform neutral white light, also when an installation is extended or serviced later. The 4000K light color creates a clean, focused pure white light that supports concentration and alertness. Multibar strips are made in Germany and backed by a 5-year warranty.

With its plug & play system, CRI90 light quality and slim format, the Multibar1090 4000K is designed for the following main applications:

• Cove lighting: In ceiling and wall coves, the bars produce soft, glare-free indirect light. With 700 lm per meter, the Multibar1090 is ideal for accent lighting and soft ambient light from coves, highlighting architectural elements, objects and furniture; for general room lighting, choose the Multibar3090 with 1700 to 1780 lm per meter. The Multibar Plug & Play System

Multibar strips are not just rigid LED bars, but a complete, solder-free lighting system. Their plug-fit connection lets you join bars into long, continuous lines of light in seconds, and the connectors still work after a bar has been cut to length (every 83.33 mm). Up to 9 m of Multibar strips can be connected to each other and supplied from one feed point. The system components (sold separately):

• Direct connector (SKU 54003): joins two bars end to end without a cable. It is designed so that the distance between the LEDs stays exactly the same across the joint, for a seamless line of light without dark gaps.
• Connectors with cable, 6, 100 or 500 cm (SKU 54004, 54008, 54009): bridge corners, edges and gaps, for example around a corner of a cove, between shelves or along furniture.
• Connectors with power supply adapter, 30, 100 or 500 cm (SKU 54005, 54010, 54011): connect the first bar directly to a compatible power supply, for example our 24 V plug & play power supply (SKU 95137, 12 W) for small installations.
• Alubar aluminum profiles, 50 cm (SKU 54910 chrome, 54915 anodized, 38809 black anodized): 13 x 10 mm profiles made for Multibar strips, to be screwed or glued; once inserted, the direct connectors are invisible and the profiles line up without gaps. Matching transparent or frosted covers (SKU 54911, 54912) and closed or open end caps (SKU 54921, 54922) complete the luminaire.
• Spacers, set of 4 (SKU 41510): self-adhesive spacers pressed through the holes of the bar, for quick mounting on hard surfaces with a small air gap.

All connectors are rated for a maximum of 5 A. With 2.6 W (108 mA) per bar, a 9 m line of Multibar1090 strips (18 bars) draws about 1.9 A, well within this limit.

Installation and Operation

• Cutting: the bar can be cut every 83.33 mm at the marked cutting points; the plug & play connectors also fit the cut pieces.
• Mounting: insert the bars into our aluminum profiles, for example the Alubar profiles made for Multibar, or fix them on hard surfaces with the spacers (SKU 41510). Avoid mechanical stress on the components.
• Connection: join the bars with direct connectors or connectors with cable, and connect the first bar to the power supply with a power supply adapter. Up to 9 m of bars can be supplied from one feed point; for longer lines, add further feed points.
• Power supply: use a stabilized 24 V DC constant voltage LED driver with short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection, sized for the connected bars: 2.6 W (108 mA) per bar, plus a safety margin. For dimming, use a dimmable driver or a 24 V PWM dimmer.
• Handling: observe standard ESD precautions, keep the bars away from aggressive chemicals, and store and operate them at 10% to 60% relative humidity.
• Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
