The SlimFlex COB Economy 4000K combines chip-on-board technology with an extremely narrow 3 mm PCB. Its 384 LED chips per meter sit under a common phosphor layer and form one homogeneous line of neutral white light, instead of a chain of dots: no dotting through a diffuser, no shadow pattern at short distances, and a clean result even where the strip is visible or installed without a cover. With a color rendering index above 90 and a 180° beam angle, it delivers 446 lm per meter at 4.8 W per meter, with an efficacy of 95 lm/W.
This makes the SlimFlex COB Economy an attractively priced choice for accent and decorative lighting: shelves, cabinets and display cases, furniture and kitchen details, narrow grooves and soft ambient light from coves. Thanks to its continuous light, CRI90 quality and 3 mm width, the SlimFlex COB Economy 4000K is designed for the following main applications:
- Cove lighting: In ceiling and wall coves, the continuous COB line produces smooth indirect light without the scalloping or light points of conventional strips. With 446 lm per meter, it is suited to soft ambient light and accent lighting around furniture, shelves and architectural elements; for general room lighting from coves, choose a strip with at least 1000 lm per meter. - High-quality white light: With a color rendering index above 90, the strip renders colors more faithfully than standard CRI80 LED strips, and its continuous light line looks clean even where the strip itself is visible, for example in shelves, display cases and furniture. Installation and Operation
- Cutting: disconnect the power before cutting, and cut only at the cut marks present on the strip.
- Mounting: clean and degrease the surface, then fix the strip with its self-adhesive backing. For continuous operation at full power, we recommend mounting it in one of our aluminum profiles, which also protect the strip and diffuse the light.
- Connection: connect the strip to the 24 V DC supply observing the polarity. For installations of several meters, size the wiring and feed points so that the voltage drop stays low.
- Power supply: use a stabilized 24 V DC constant voltage LED driver with short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection, sized for the connected length: 4.8 W per meter, 24 W for the complete 5 m set.
- Handling: do not twist, crease or sharply bend the COB strip, do not press on the light-emitting surface or the conductor tracks, observe standard ESD precautions and keep the strip away from aggressive chemicals.
- Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
