The SmartArray L6 Tunable White is a compact 50 x 7 mm linear module for tunable white luminaires operated with constant current. Its Nichia LEDs cover the popular range from warm white 2700K to neutral white 5000K, with up to 340 lm in warm white and 400 lm in neutral white at 350 mA and 3 W, and a color rendering index above 80 over the whole range. Independent V+ and V- pads for each color temperature make it easy to combine with 2-channel constant current controllers.

Installation and Operation

• Cooling: mount the module on a heat sink or the metal body of the luminaire, with thermal interface material or the adhesive pad where provided, and make sure the Tc point stays within the specified limits in the finished luminaire.
• Connection: connect each color with its own V+ and V- pads to one channel of a 2-channel constant current controller.
• LED driver: operate the module with a constant current LED driver with short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection; never connect it directly to a constant voltage supply. Several modules can be connected in series: the current stays the same and the voltages add up, so the driver output voltage must cover the sum.
• Handling: do not touch or press the LEDs, observe standard ESD precautions, keep the module away from aggressive chemicals, and store and operate it at 10% to 60% relative humidity.
• Safety: installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
