Tunable White and The Concept of Human Centric Lighting
Tunable white LED lighting can be adjusted to produce various shades of white light with a color temperature ranging between 1800K and 6500K. This can be made to match the color temperature of daylight at a certain time during the day.
Human Centric Lighting (HCL) is a lighting design approach that focuses on enhancing human well-being, health, and performance by considering the physiological, psychological, and emotional effects of light. With advances in LED technology, tunable white LED lighting solutions have made it possible to emulate natural light indoors, creating a more comfortable and productive environment for living, working, and leisure.
To obtain a Human Centric Lighting system, a combination of warm white (1800K) and cool white (6500K) LED light sources is typically used. This creates tunable white lighting, which can be adjusted to produce various shades of white light with a color temperature ranging between 2700K and 6500K. This can be made to match the color temperature of daylight at a certain time during the day, for example:

Nichia 757 and CSP LEDs
Nichia 757 LEDs or direct mountable, packageless, Direct Mountable Chip LEDs, both with cutting edge innovative technologies such Nichia Optisolis, Vitasolis or H6 (Highest Efficacy CRI90 LEDs).
- Nichia 757 LEDs are the Industry leading 3030 Mid-power LED, with the highest luminous efficacy (up to 222 lm/w) and reliability (up to 100.000h L70 lifetime). Each LED has a typical consumption of 0.2W at 65mA, for a luminous flux up to 45 lm.
- Nichia CSP (Direct Mountable Chip) is a chip scale LED which has been developed through Nichia's technology and expertise in phosphors and LEDs. By making the LED package size equal to the light-emitting surface size, it is possible to achieve the largest class of luminous flux density in a limited space within a luminaire.
Nichia Dynasolis-Azure LED system
Dynasolis™ replaces the 6500K cool white LEDs side with Azure LEDs, maximizing melanopic illuminance and stimulating both physical and mental activation in the morning. By gradually reducing azure light, as the day passes, and shifting to warmer light, Dynasolis™ creates a comfortable and relaxing lighting environment in the afternoon that also leads to high-quality sleep in the evening. This approach, focusing on spectrum tuning, effectively supports circadian rhythm regulation.
