With our range of tunable white LED modules and strips you can easily and accurately reproduce the color shade of natural sunlight.

Scientifically this shade is called color temperature and is measured degrees Kelvin (K). Thus, at sunrise and sunset on a clear day the color temperature of natural light is 2000-3500K, what we call warm white. In the morning sunlight is of pure white, color temperature of 3500-4500K, and at noon cold white 5500-6500K.

Tunable white light is the key ingredient of Human Centric Lighting (HCL). This type of lighting aims at harmonizing lighting with our specific needs and positively influence fundamental psychological processes such as concentration, productivity, mood, sleep-wake cycles and more.

With HCL lighting, we can be influenced to feel and act the same under artificial light as under natural light, at a particular time of day. For example a warm white can make us feel relaxed, sentimentalist as we fell when the sun is at sunset while a pure white light can energize, just as midday sunlight. HCL can also tell us what moment of the day it is while indoors the same way as we instinctively know when outside.

To achieve its aim, a Human Centric Lighting solution must be with high quality spectrum and offer easy adjustments of color temperature and brightness. The lighting system must also have high energy efficiency and low maintenance costs.

With our Tunable White strips, modules and Powercontroler light control system you have a complete, high quality system for Human Centric Lighting, with easy control, highest energy efficiency and longest life possible, up to 200.000 hours. You can choose from:

  • LumiFlexTW and SlimFlexTW LED strips for Human Centric Lighting via cove lights with indirect light or linear lighting systems with direct light
  • LumiBarTW led modules from HCL with natural spectrum for linear lighting systems
  • Daisy LED modules with lens for Human Centric Lighting from downlights or wall washers
  • BackMatrix 49 and LumiSphere for HCL enabled backlighting, such as illuminated stretch ceilings with Barrisol or similar
  • SmartArray and Dim2Warm LED modules for compact lighting fixtures

PowerControler for tunable white control and more

With our new PowerControler range of control units you are empowered to control the shades and intensity levels of light in all the required ways of Human Centric Lighting and beyond. Tunable White, RGBW and even single color LEDs can be controlled via dimmers, switches, your smartphone or the DALI protocol.

The PowerControler can control constant voltage 12V or 24V LED strips by using only a dimmable powersupply, or modules with constant current up to 1500mA (such our LinearZ) in connection with the compatible LED driver as below.

About the Nichia LED quality difference

The company Nichia from Japan, the manufacturer of the Tunable White LEDs, has the world's largest LED market share (more than 25%) and is the inventor of white LED production technology, also receiving the Nobel Prize for this invention. The very long life of Nichia 757G LEDs (minimum 100,000 hours), high operating temperature resistance, much better light power and good light quality are just some of the attributes that recommend this LED strip for long-lasting use in a wide range of applications.

The difference between the quality and performance of a LED strip or module with Nichia LEDs and a common LED light is evident from the first light and in time the gap increases even further:

1) The luminous flux level is maintained for a long time

After 10,000 hours of operation, a Nichia 757 LED keeps 97% of the initial luminos flux. An inexpensive LED loses up to 60% of the initial light in the same range.

The evolution of the Nichia 757 LED light output is supported by 10,000-hour tests, according to the LM-80 standard, and the lifetime (80% light) is calculated according to the internationally recognized TM-21 methodology.

The evolution of Nichia LED light output compared to an inexpensive LED: after 10,000 hours

2) The Nichia 757 LED is up to 5 times more energy efficient

Depending on the technology used, LEDs may have different light output for the same power consumption. The difference in light efficacy (lumens per watt) from one LED to another may be even more than 500% and has a very high influence on the production price. The Nichia 757 LEDs have the highest light efficacy, more than 200 lumens per watt compared to an inexpensive LED that has around 50 lumens per watt.

A Nichia LED uses the 3 Step Macadam Elipse sorting standard and keeps the same color temperature in time

Accessories for Tunable White LEDs

The Tunable White LED strips can be combined with profiles to obtain linear luminaires with Human Centric Light and minimalist design. The quality of the profiles and the finishing of the profiles in our offer is the highest, as for German market. The profile protects the strip from dust, mechanical shocks and provides cooling for longer and longer life.
