LumiBarTW-112-4090+ Nichia Circadian Tunable White LED Module 2000K, 4000K and 6500K CRI92, Zhaga 28 cm

The LumiBarTW-112-4090+ is designed for circadian tunable white lighting. Its 112 Nichia LEDs in three channels, warm 2000K, neutral 4000K and cold 6500K, allow color temperatures to be tuned along a path close to the Planckian curve, the curve of natural light sources: from cool, activating light in the morning to warm, candle-like tones at dusk. The 4000K channel uses the Nichia H6 series with a narrow-band red phosphor for CRI above 90 at an efficacy of 171 lm/W, and the module reaches CRI above 92 overall.

Designed according to the Zhaga Book 7 standard (category L28W2), the LumiBarTW-112-4090+ has a 20 mm wide, 28 cm rigid board with solderless terminals and needs no additional heat sink. It is operated at 24 V constant voltage with a 3-channel controller, and is made in Germany with a 5-year warranty.

Applications of the LumiBarTW-112-4090+ LED Module

With its separately controllable channels and Zhaga-compatible format, the LumiBarTW-112-4090+ is designed for the following main applications:

• Linear lighting: Mounted end to end in linear luminaires, recessed or surface-mounted profiles and pendant lights, LumiBarTW-112-4090+ modules create tunable lines of light; four modules (1.12 m) fit a 1.2 m luminaire. • Cove lighting: Installed in ceiling or wall coves, the modules produce indirect light whose color can follow the time of day or the occasion: warm light for a relaxed atmosphere, cooler light for activity and concentration. Built Around the Zhaga Standard (Book 7)

The Zhaga Consortium is a global lighting industry association that defines interface specifications, called Books, so that LED light engines from different manufacturers can be used interchangeably in the same luminaire. Zhaga Book 7 covers linear and square LED modules for indoor lighting that are operated with a separate LED driver and are mounted in the luminaire, and replaced, by professionals. It specifies the mechanical, thermal, photometric and electrical interfaces between the LED module and the luminaire, and defines 18 module categories by their maximum outer dimensions. In 2023, Book 7 became the first Zhaga specification to be published as an IEC standard, IEC 63356-2. More information is available on the Zhaga Book 7 page.

The LumiBar is designed according to Zhaga Book 7. With its dimensions of 279.5 x 20 mm, the LumiBar fits the Book 7 category L28W2, which defines a maximum module size of 280 x 24 mm.

• For luminaire manufacturers: a luminaire body designed around the Zhaga form factor accepts standardized modules, so you can switch to newer, more efficient LED generations or a second source without redesigning the luminaire.
• For maintenance and upgrades: existing luminaires with Zhaga Book 7 modules can be serviced or upgraded with LumiBar modules, extending their service life.
• For sustainable lighting: replaceable, standardized light engines make luminaires serviceable and support the replaceability of light sources required by the EU Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2019/2020.

Installation and Operation

• Mounting: mount the module flat on the luminaire body, ideally on a metal surface for good heat transfer; no additional heat sink is required. Do not bend the rigid circuit board and avoid mechanical stress on the components.
• Connection: the module has solderless terminals. Strip the wire insulation at the connection point and insert the wire; we recommend a conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm² (AWG 18). Observe the marking of the channels.
• Power supply and control: operate the module with a stabilized 24 V DC constant voltage LED driver and a 3-channel controller, one channel per color. Several modules are connected in parallel; size the driver for all channels at full output, up to 15.76 W per module, plus a safety margin.
• Handling: observe standard ESD precautions, keep the module away from aggressive chemicals, and store and operate it at 10% to 60% relative humidity.
• Safety: the power supply must provide short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection, and installation must comply with all applicable electrical and safety standards and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
