Toshiba-SSC's new SunLikeTRI-R ™ technology turns the LED into a natural light source with very near-solar spectrum. All colors are as vibrant and have the same shade under SunLike LED light as they are seen outside in the sunlight.

The SunLike LED spectrum illuminates colors just like natural light

The intensity of blue light in the light spectrum of the light source influences our health. Studies have found that too much blue light can affect sleep or cause migraines.

Standard LEDs produce white light by coating a blue LED chip with a phosphor layer, the intensity of blue light in the spectrum being very high.

The SunLike TRI-R 5000K LEDs emit much less blue light and have no negative effects on our health.

Blue light: difference between SunLike Tri-R LED and Standard

The LumiFlex700 SunLike LED strips are a brilliant natural light source easy to install over long distances.

Equipped with 140 Toshiba-SSC SunLikeTRI-R™ LEDs per meter with a white sunlight flux of over 1700 lm (equivalent to 150W) at a consumption of just 19.2 watts, the strips are delivered in 5-meter rolls with adhesive on the back.

This performance, combined with a lifetime of over 36,000 hours, recommends SunLike strips for general, task or detail lighting in hospitals, medical clinics, museums, shops, offices, or in the home.

The SunLike quality difference

Toshiba is a Japanese conglomerate with a history of more than a century, now specialized in semiconductors, electronics and hardware, with nearly 20,000 employees and an annual turnover of 40 billion USD.

Toshiba has invented TRI-R technology and builds the LED chips used in South Korea's Seoul Semiconductor SunLike LEDs.

Seoul Semiconductor (SSC) is an LED-maker with more than 27 years of experience, in the top 10 worldwide manufacturers with annual LED diode sales of more than $ 1 billion.

We are a specialist of high performance LED light solutions. As part of the early success of LEDs we have extensive application knowledge from a wide range of sectors. Since 2010, we have developed and produced LED strips in a state-of-the-art production facility in Germany. These strips have been used successfully in a wide range of application and developed specifically to meet customer specifications.

The difference between the quality and performance of the strip with SunLike LEDs and a with budget LED strip is evident at the first light and in time the gap increases even more.

1) Excellent color fidelity

Sunlike LEDs are characterized by very high values in the color rendering index (CRI) and color quality (CQS). Since LEDs with TRI-R technology include the entire spectrum of colors such as sunlight, it is possible, for example, to correctly evaluate all the colors of a clothing item, artwork, gold with all reflections or even a pale tone of skin.

2) Color rendering index (CRI) and color quality (CQS) near the maximum possible

The continuous color spectrum of the TRI-R LEDs makes it possible to achieve very high values for CRI (97+) and CQS (Qa96), both close to the maximum of 100. Thus, with TRI-R LEDs it is possible for an illuminated object to have the same color and shade as in the sunlight.

Many of the cheap LEDs have a CRI of less than 70, the colors they illuminate have a very different shade as when viewed in sunlight.

3) Higher contrast

How well a person sees depends on many factors. One of them is the proportion of blue spectrum in the white light. The blue of the sky is explained by the fact that blue light is more diffuse and reflected than the yellow or red light. Even in the eyes, the blue light is more scattered, which a person perceives as a shine. With the TRI-R technology, the unusually high blue content in the LED light is eliminated. The result is greater contrast and generally better visual performance under the light of SunLike TRI-R LEDs.

4) The light output level is maintained for a long time

After 6,000 hours of operation, a SunLike 757 LED has a lumen maintenance of 96%. An inexpensive LED loses up to 60% of the initial power in the same range.

SunLike LED light output is backed by 6,000-hour tests, according to LM-80 methodology, and lifetime (light at 80%) is calculated according to TM-21 methodology, both internationally recognized.

5) The SunLike LEDs have a sorted, stable shade of white light

On the strip, all SunLike LEDs have the same shade. In addition, all LED strips in one delivery have the same shade, which will also be maintained for a future order. This is possible due to the 3 Macadam Elipse sorting standard. In addition, after many hours of operation SunLike LEDs have the same hue as the acquisition.

In contrast, on the cheap strip, the LEDs may have more shades or the difference in shade between the two reels can be significant. The requirement that the color temperature is the same in a future order is impossible to fulfill due to the lack of a post-production sorting standard (a price-increasing standard). Moreover, after just a few thousand hours, each inexpensive LED on the strip changes its hue, resulting a "rainbow" effect.

6) The SunLike LED is more energy efficient

Depending on the technology used, the LEDs may have different light output for the same power consumption, the difference in light efficacy (lumens per watt) from one LED to another being even more than 500%.

The SunLike LEDs have a very good light efficacy for a very high CRI LED, ie more than 120 lumens per watt, compared to an inexpensive LED with a CRI of less than 70 that has about 50 lumens per watt.

In other words, a meter of SunLike 19W / m strip is as bright as three meters of 14.4W / m strip with 5050 cheap LEDs (total consumption 43W per meter). After 6,000 hours, the SunLike strip will become as bright as nearly six meters from the cheap LED strip, due to the degradation of the latter's luminous flux.
